1. Acceptance of Terms

 

By accessing or using the YKG Contests website (YKGContests.com) and its related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

YKG Contests reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms or engages in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

YKG Contests provides the following services:

  • Online Debates: Registered users can book free or paid entries into debates, and winners of paid debates may receive a cash prize as announced in the individual debate’s description.

  • Ads Corner: Businesses or brands may register, pay the applicable fee, and request ad placements through the YKG Ads Corner forum. Ads are subject to review and approval.

  • Merchandise Store: Users can buy official YKG Contests products (such as branded merch).

  • Future Marketplace: YKG Contests may later allow partner businesses to sell products on the Site under separate partnership terms.

 

5. Payments and Charges

  • All payments must be made through the approved payment channels displayed on the Site.

  • All prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless otherwise stated.

  • Booking fees, ads fees, and product prices are non-refundable except in cases of proven system error or service failure attributable to YKG Contests.

  • Winners’ rewards will be disbursed through the payment method specified in the contest brief, subject to identity verification.

 

6. Contest Rules and Fair Play

 

Participants must adhere to the specific rules and guidelines stated for each debate or contest.
YKG Contests reserves the right to disqualify or suspend participants who cheat, use offensive language, impersonate others, or attempt to manipulate votes or results.

7. Advertisers’ Responsibilities

 

Businesses using the Ads Corner must:

  • Ensure all submitted ads comply with Nigerian advertising laws and the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) standards.

  • Not submit illegal, deceptive, or offensive content.

  • Grant YKG Contests a limited license to display, distribute, and promote the ad content on its platform.
    YKG Contests reserves the right to reject or remove any ad at its discretion.

 

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property on the Site, including logos, graphics, designs, and code, belongs to YKG Contests or its licensors.
You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce Site content without prior written consent.
User-generated content (such as debate posts) remains the property of its author, but by posting on the platform, you grant YKG Contests a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and share such content for promotional purposes.

 

9. Prohibited Activities

  • Use the Site for unlawful or fraudulent activities.

  • Infringe on others’ intellectual property or privacy rights.

YKG Contests provides all services “as is” without warranties of any kind.
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, YKG Contests shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from use of the Site, delayed payments, or third-party service errors.

 

11. Suspension or Termination

 

YKG Contests may suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent conduct, or damages the integrity of the platform.

 

12. Data Protection and Privacy

 

YKG Contests complies with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
Personal information is collected and used only as described in our Privacy Policy for purposes such as identity verification, payments, and service improvement.
Users have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of their data as required under the NDPA.
